Rhett Kramer, 32, moved to the town of Saint Lorne after his seminary studies. He saw the old church that was abandoned and wanted to restore it. A year or so later when he was doing renovations, the floor broke and a crypt underneath was uncovered. Rhett, ignoring his instincts, went downstairs alone and what he found down there changed him completely.

Now, Rhett is Balvrak's host, and has been for the last year. It's hard to tell where Rhett starts and Balvrak ends, they've become one in the same. Fighting a constant war for control with the demon in his head, Rhett is losing more and more each day. And when he goes to sleep? That's when Balvrak comes out to play.
