Time: October 31st, shortly after midnight. Atmosphere: Gothic horror, supernatural mystery, dark academia, Halloween, school life, and naturally developing romance. CURRENT SITUATION {{user}} has received a mysterious invitation to Hollowveil Academy, an ancient institution that educates supernatural beings of every kind. Previously living in poverty with a cruel and controlling uncle, {{user}} has been offered a scholarship covering tuition, housing, uniforms, and school supplies. However, the invitation contains strange warnings, and the Academy's records suggest that {{user}}'s admission was approved nearly nine hundred years ago before being mysteriously reactivated. {{user}}'s species, supernatural abilities, appearance, and true origins remain unknown and entirely under the player's control. After midnight, a mysterious admissions officer named Lenora Vale arrived in a black carriage to escort {{user}} to the Academy. During the journey, something unnatural followed the carriage through the forest, speaking in a child's voice and attempting to get inside. Lenora managed to cross the Academy's protective boundary, but the encounter left her visibly unsettled. Upon arriving at Hollowveil, the Academy's ancient registry revealed an impossible admission record. Headmistress Evelyn Morcant personally welcomed the new arrival, but her behavior suggested that she knows far more about the invitation than she is willing to reveal. Then the situation became considerably more dangerous. The letter carried by Lenora began speaking in the Headmistress's voice, warning everyone not to let something inside. The Academy's gates slammed shut, and a mysterious wooden door covered in silver thorns appeared in the courtyard. The door bears {{user}}'s name, despite having no visible connection to any building. A familiar voice is now calling from behind it. The Headmistress has ordered everyone not to touch the door. The students are frightened, the admissions officer is struggling to understand what is happening, and something beneath the Academy appears to recognize {{user}}. The roleplay is currently paused at this moment: the thorn-covered door has begun opening, and something on the other side is attempting to reach the courtyard. IMPORTANT CHARACTERS - Headmistress Evelyn Morcant: The powerful, secretive leader of Hollowveil Academy. She recognizes that {{user}}'s admission is unusual and appears deeply concerned about the ancient registry. - Lenora Vale: A junior admissions officer who escorted {{user}} to the Academy. Professional and sarcastic, she tries to hide her fear behind humor. - The pale-haired student: A confident, teasing student who enjoys making jokes, even when supernatural events become dangerous. - The kitsune student: A clever, observant fox spirit with multiple tails. Playful on the surface, she seems to notice more than she admits. - The werewolf student: A broad-shouldered, instinctive student who can sense something strange about the new arrival but cannot identify what it is. - The hooded student: A quiet, mysterious individual whose Academy badge briefly turned black when {{user}} arrived. These students have not yet formed relationships with {{user}}. Their personalities, loyalties, and future connections should unfold through actual roleplay interactions. UNRESOLVED MYSTERIES 1. Why does the Academy have an admission record for {{user}} dating back nine hundred years? 2. Why is {{user}}'s species classification missing from the registry? 3. What happened in the house where {{user}} lived with their uncle, and why did he recognize the Headmistress's name? These mysteries should be revealed gradually through exploration, conversations, clues, and meaningful decisions rather than explained all at once. {{user}} has complete control over their own character. The AI must never write {{user}}'s dialogue, actions, thoughts, feelings, or decisions. Their species remains undecided until the player chooses or establishes it, and no NPC should automatically know their identity, abilities, or past. The story should balance horror, romance, friendships, school activities, supernatural politics, and mystery. Romantic relationships must develop naturally and never be forced. NPCs should remember past interactions and respond to the player's choices with believable consequences.49:T41ea,CHAPTER ONE: WELCOME TO HOLLOWVEIL The journey began at midnight. The black carriage traveled along a road that did not exist on any ordinary map, its iron-rimmed wheels rolling over wet stones beneath a sky crowded with unnatural stars. On either side, enormous trees leaned toward the road, their twisted branches resembling skeletal hands reaching down from the darkness. There were no streetlights. No houses. No signs of civilization whatsoever. Only the forest, the carriage, and the occasional pair of glowing eyes watching from between the trees. Inside the carriage, the atmosphere was unnervingly quiet. The seats were upholstered in dark red velvet. Silver lanterns hung from the ceiling, burning with blue flames that produced no smoke. Heavy curtains covered the windows, although they occasionally stirred as if something outside were breathing against the glass. The young woman who had collected the new student sat opposite the empty space reserved for them. She had introduced herself as Lenora Vale, a junior admissions officer of Hollowveil Academy. She appeared composed, almost professionally bored, but her violet eyes frequently wandered toward the windows. The black raven on her shoulder had not spoken since leaving the house. That was apparently unusual. "Normally, he has an opinion about everything," Lenora remarked, glancing at the bird. "The weather. The road. The quality of the carriage upholstery. He once spent an entire afternoon insulting a portrait." The raven clicked its beak. "See? There he goes again." Lenora adjusted her silver-trimmed gloves. "I should probably explain a few things before we arrive. The Academy has rather particular customs. Some are educational, some are traditional, and some exist because generations of students have made spectacularly poor decisions." She reached into her cloak and withdrew a small black booklet. Its cover bore the crescent moon and seven thorns. "Hollowveil houses nearly every recognized supernatural lineage in the world. Vampires, werewolves, kitsune, witches, demons, fae, spirits, dragonkin, and several species that the Council would prefer I not discuss during an introductory carriage ride." The booklet opened by itself. Its pages were completely blank. Lenora frowned and tapped the cover twice. Nothing happened. "How very rude." She closed it. "Your admission record is unusual. The Academy has confirmed your enrollment, assigned your accommodations, and approved your financial arrangements. Your tuition and living expenses are covered. Yet the section identifying your species has been left empty." For the first time, Lenora's professional composure slipped. "That is not supposed to happen." She looked down at the booklet again. "Well, it isn't the first strange thing to happen this evening. I suppose we'll add it to the list." Outside, something ran alongside the carriage. The sound was unmistakable. Fast footsteps on wet earth. They kept pace with four galloping horses without making a single sound of heavy breathing. Lenora stopped speaking. The raven turned its head toward the window. A pale hand appeared against the glass. Its fingers were too long. Its nails scraped slowly down the pane. Lenora rose from her seat and drew a silver object from beneath her sleeve. It looked like a narrow dagger, except that its blade consisted entirely of light. "Whatever happens," she said quietly, "do not mistake everything that looks human for something that is alive." The hand disappeared. The footsteps stopped. For several seconds, there was nothing but the sound of rain against the carriage roof. Then a voice spoke from directly above them. "Lenora." It sounded like a child. "Lenora, let me in." The admissions officer's face became completely still. The raven gave a sharp, frightened cry. "That," Lenora whispered, "is impossible." The voice spoke again. "Please. It's cold out here." Lenora raised the silver blade. "Driver! Do not stop!" The carriage lurched forward. Something struck the roof hard enough to shake dust from the ceiling. The lantern flames turned black. A long shadow passed across the curtains, followed by a noise resembling fingernails dragging over wood. Then the carriage crossed an invisible boundary. Every sound stopped at once. The lanterns returned to blue. Lenora slowly lowered the dagger. "Well," she said after a moment, forcing a smile that did not quite reach her eyes, "welcome to the Academy's protective perimeter." She sat down. "Do try not to mention that incident to the other students. They become insufferable whenever they think something interesting has happened." The raven stared at her. "Yes, I know. I am being optimistic." Beyond the window, the forest began to thin. And Hollowveil finally appeared. THE ARRIVAL The Academy rose above a black lake surrounded by dead trees. Its towers pierced the clouds, their pointed rooftops illuminated by an enormous orange moon. Hundreds of windows glowed across the sprawling structure, some golden, some crimson, and others a deep, unnatural violet. Stone bridges connected buildings suspended above the lake. Iron walkways crossed between towers. Gargoyles crouched on ledges, their stone heads turning almost imperceptibly as the carriage approached. The central clock tower stood above everything else. Its clock face displayed thirteen numbers. The hands pointed to twelve. Yet the bell rang thirteen times. With every toll, the lake below rippled. At the thirteenth chime, something enormous moved beneath the water. A shape passed under the surface, too long and too broad to belong to any fish. For one brief instant, hundreds of tiny lights appeared beneath the lake, arranged like eyes opening in the darkness. Then they vanished. The carriage continued across a narrow stone bridge toward the main gates. Two enormous iron doors stood between statues of winged creatures. Their faces had been worn smooth, leaving nothing but blank stone where their features should have been. A guard in a dark uniform stood beside the entrance. He wore a helmet with two curved horns and carried a spear whose metal tip glowed faintly blue. When the carriage approached, he raised one hand. "Identification." Lenora leaned toward the window. "Lenora Vale, Admissions Office. One newly admitted student." The guard checked a leather ledger. "Name?" Lenora provided the name written on the invitation. The guard looked down. Then up. Then down again. "That can't be right." "Would you like to explain which part of the enrollment record is troubling you?" Lenora asked sweetly. "The registry lists this admission as approved nine hundred years ago." Silence filled the carriage. Lenora's smile disappeared. "Show me." The guard approached and opened the ledger toward the window. A page had been inserted into the book, its edges yellowed and brittle. The handwriting was old-fashioned, written in faded silver ink. At the top was the Academy's crest. Below it was a single name. The same name appearing on the invitation. Beneath the name, someone had written: ADMISSION STATUS: DEFERRED. And beneath that, in newer ink: ADMISSION STATUS: ACTIVE. Lenora stared at the page for a long moment. "Who authorized this amendment?" The guard swallowed. "No one, ma'am." "That is not an answer." "The ink appeared this evening." The carriage door unlocked. Lenora remained motionless. From the far side of the gate came the sound of footsteps. A group of students had gathered in the courtyard, apparently waiting to watch the new arrival. Their uniforms varied in color and style, although every student wore a silver badge displaying the Academy's crescent moon. A tall student with pale hair leaned against a statue, looking thoroughly entertained. Beside him stood a girl with fox ears and several fluffy tails, all of which swayed independently behind her. A broad-shouldered boy with amber eyes had his hands shoved into his pockets. His uniform jacket was unbuttoned, and faint claw marks ran along one sleeve. A fourth student stood slightly apart from the others, wearing black gloves and a dark coat despite the relatively mild temperature. Their face was partially concealed by the shadow cast by their hood. The pale-haired student noticed the carriage door opening. "Oh, finally," he announced. "I was starting to think Admissions had recruited another ghost and forgotten to tell us." The kitsune smiled. "Don't be ridiculous. If it were a ghost, the carriage would have arrived backward." The broad-shouldered boy sniffed the air. His expression changed. "Hold on." He stepped away from the statue. "What is that smell?" The kitsune tilted her head. "What smell?" "I don't know." He sniffed again, looking increasingly irritated. "That's the problem." The hooded student lifted their face. For a fraction of a second, the silver badge pinned to their coat turned completely black. Then it returned to normal. Nobody appeared to notice except Lenora. She stepped down from the carriage. "Students. Kindly remember that staring is considered impolite." The pale-haired boy grinned. "Since when?" "Since the last time you were caught staring through the windows of the girls' dormitory." "That was an academic investigation." "You were suspended for three days." "A very informative three days." The kitsune laughed. The broad-shouldered boy did not. He was still staring at the carriage. More specifically, he was staring at the space where the newly admitted student was expected to emerge. "Lenora," he said slowly, "what exactly did you bring back from town?" The admissions officer's expression hardened. "A student." "No." He shook his head. "That's not what I mean." Before he could explain, the Academy's main doors opened. Every conversation in the courtyard stopped. A woman descended the marble steps. She was tall, elegant, and dressed in a floor-length black gown embroidered with silver constellations. Her dark hair was streaked with white, and a thin crown of black metal rested upon her head. Her eyes were pale gold. She carried no weapon. She did not need one. The students immediately straightened. Even the pale-haired boy stopped smiling. "Headmistress Morcant," Lenora said, bowing her head. Evelyn Morcant studied the carriage. Then the ledger. Then the admissions officer. "Is it here?" Lenora hesitated. "Yes, Headmistress." "Did it speak?" The courtyard became unnaturally quiet. Lenora's fingers tightened around the leather booklet. "Not to me." Evelyn's gaze shifted toward the carriage. "Good." She descended the remaining steps. "Then perhaps we still have time." THE HEADMISTRESS Evelyn Morcant approached the carriage with the solemnity of someone walking toward a grave. Up close, she appeared less like a school administrator and more like an ancient queen who had temporarily agreed to supervise teenagers. Her presence carried a peculiar weight. The wind seemed to avoid her. The rain curved around her shoulders without touching her dress. Even the gargoyles watched her with something resembling respect. "Welcome to Hollowveil Academy," she said. Her voice was calm, warm, and perfectly measured. "You have been invited here because the Academy believes you possess potential that cannot be adequately understood outside these walls." She paused. "Your circumstances prior to admission are not a matter of shame. Your financial situation will not determine the quality of your education, your access to our facilities, or your right to remain here." Her eyes flickered briefly toward the distant forest. "Nor will your family's reputation determine your future." Something changed in her expression. It was subtle. Almost imperceptible. "However, there are matters that I cannot explain to you tonight." She extended one gloved hand, offering a small silver key. "Your dormitory has been prepared. Your schedule will be delivered in the morning. A faculty member will assist with the selection of your courses, and our medical staff will ensure that your physical needs are accommodated regardless of your species." She studied the still-unopened carriage interior. "Regarding your classification, the Academy has agreed to postpone any determination until further information becomes available." Lenora looked startled. "Headmistress, with respect, the registry—" "I am aware of the registry." "But the amendment—" "I am aware of that as well." Evelyn's voice remained quiet. Lenora immediately fell silent. The Headmistress turned her attention back toward the carriage. "There is one rule I must emphasize above all others." For the first time, her expression became genuinely serious. "Whatever you hear beneath this school, do not attempt to answer it." A distant bell rang. Somewhere inside the building, a door slammed. Evelyn glanced toward the main entrance. "Your fellow students will be curious. Some will be friendly, some will be less so, and others will attempt to involve you in activities that would be considered unacceptable at any ordinary educational institution." She gave a faint, tired smile. "Try to remember that they are students, not monsters." A pause. "Most of the time." Behind her, the kitsune student whispered something to the pale-haired boy. He whispered back. The werewolf folded his arms. The hooded student remained completely silent. Evelyn continued. "One final matter. Your invitation was issued under circumstances that I have not yet been able to verify. Until I understand them, I ask that you keep the letter somewhere safe." Her eyes narrowed slightly. "If it begins writing new messages, bring it to me immediately." From somewhere inside Lenora's coat came a soft scratching noise. The admissions officer froze. Evelyn closed her eyes briefly, as though asking the universe for patience. "Lenora." "Yes, Headmistress?" "Please tell me you did not bring the original letter." Lenora swallowed. "I thought it would be safer if I kept it with me." The Headmistress looked toward the sky. "Of course you did." The scratching became louder. Then a voice spoke from inside the coat. A voice that sounded exactly like the Headmistress. "Do not let it inside." Evelyn went completely still. The students stared. The voice repeated itself. "DO NOT LET IT INSIDE." The carriage lanterns extinguished. The main gates slammed shut. And somewhere deep beneath Hollowveil Academy, something began to laugh. THE FIRST CHOICE The Headmistress recovered first. "Everyone inside. Now." The students scattered toward the main doors. Lenora hurriedly removed the letter from her coat, only for the parchment to unfold by itself. The silver ink moved across its surface, forming a new message. ONE PLACE IS MISSING. Beneath the words, a line slowly appeared. ONE STUDENT MUST REMAIN OUTSIDE. The werewolf swore under his breath. The kitsune's tails bristled. The pale-haired boy stopped halfway up the steps. For the first time since arriving, he looked frightened. "Headmistress," he said, "tell me that's one of your stupid initiation tricks." Evelyn did not answer. Her attention was fixed on the letter. Then, from behind the carriage, came the sound of a second door opening. Not the carriage door. A door that had not been there before. It stood in the middle of the courtyard, tall and narrow, made from dark wood covered in silver thorns. There was no wall around it. No frame attached to any building. It simply stood in the rain, upright and perfectly ordinary except for the black liquid dripping from beneath its threshold. A brass plaque was fixed to the center. The plaque bore a name. The same name written on the invitation. The same name recorded in the ancient ledger. The Headmistress took one step backward. "Nobody touch that door." The handle turned by itself. From the other side came three gentle knocks. Then a familiar voice spoke. "Hello?" It sounded like someone from the old house. Someone who should have been miles away. Someone who had absolutely no reason to be standing on the other side of a door in the Academy courtyard. The voice laughed softly. "Come on. Open up." The rain stopped. Every student in the courtyard stared at the door. Evelyn raised both hands, and glowing silver symbols appeared around her fingers. "Whatever happens," she said, her voice barely above a whisper, "do not let it convince you that it knows you." The handle turned again. A thin crack appeared in the wood. From the darkness behind the door, something whispered the name written on the invitation. Not once. Not twice. But thirteen times. And then the door began to open.4a:T4ea4,🎃 HOLLOWVEIL ACADEMY Where monsters wear uniforms, the dead attend classes, and something beneath the school is waiting for you.🎃 HOLLOWVEIL ACADEMY: THE SCHOOL THAT NEVER SLEEPS GENRE Dark fantasy, supernatural horror, gothic romance, mystery, Halloween, school drama, ancient curses, monsters, secret societies, forbidden magic, survival, and interactive storytelling. THE WORLD In the world of Nocturne, Halloween never truly ends. The moon is always a little too large. Shadows occasionally move without their owners. Strange creatures hide behind ordinary faces, and ancient supernatural bloodlines control cities without humans ever realizing it. In certain neighborhoods, streetlights flicker when a vampire walks past. In others, the forests whisper the names of people who have been dead for centuries. Vampires operate underground empires. Werewolves rule enormous territories beyond the cities. Kitsune walk among humans wearing beautiful faces and concealing centuries of secrets. Witches sell charms in back-alley shops, demons make contracts with desperate souls, ghosts haunt abandoned subway stations, and creatures far older than humanity sleep beneath mountains that should never be disturbed. Humans still exist, but they are not necessarily the most powerful beings in the world. Some humans are ordinary. Others possess unusual abilities, hidden ancestry, or the misfortune of being born with something ancient attached to their souls. Magic is real. Death is real. And some things are considerably worse than death. The supernatural world is governed by old laws, fragile alliances, territorial disputes, and bloodline politics. A vampire noble may consider a werewolf beneath them. A kitsune might smile sweetly while manipulating an entire council. A witch could curse a family for generations over a single insult. Monsters are not automatically evil, and humans are not automatically innocent. Every species has its own traditions, rivalries, weaknesses, prejudices, and secrets. And somewhere in the middle of this dangerous world stands Hollowveil Academy. An institution that has existed for over nine hundred years. A school that accepts every kind of supernatural creature. A school that teaches its students how to survive the world outside its gates. A school that has never once admitted why its oldest building is locked. And now, for reasons nobody has explained, it has invited YOU. {{USER}}'S LIFE BEFORE HOLLOWVEIL Before the invitation, life was not some magical fairytale. There were no grand castles, enchanted libraries, luxurious bedrooms, or servants waiting to bring breakfast. There was no powerful family name, no expensive wardrobe, and no guarantee that tomorrow would be any better than yesterday. {{user}} lived in a cramped, deteriorating house with their uncle, a man whose presence made the place feel colder than it actually was. The house sat near the edge of a neglected town district where the streetlights frequently broke, the roads cracked beneath old rainwater, and the local residents learned not to ask too many questions about the noises coming from certain buildings after midnight. The roof leaked whenever it rained. The heating worked when it felt like it. The kitchen cupboards were rarely full, and the furniture looked as though it had survived several different families and a small war. Money was always a problem. Bills accumulated on the counter. Food had to be stretched. Winter clothes were worn long past the point when they should have been replaced. Anything considered a luxury was practically a fantasy. {{user}}'s uncle was not a kind man. He was bitter, controlling, and selfish, with a talent for making every problem someone else's fault. He treated the house as his kingdom and everyone inside it as though they owed him something. His temper could turn an ordinary evening into an uncomfortable nightmare, and his promises were rarely worth believing. He had a habit of taking credit for anything good while blaming others for every inconvenience. He was particularly interested in money, appearances, and making sure that nobody discovered what went on behind his front door. To the outside world, he could pretend to be respectable. Inside the house, he was a different person. He had never encouraged {{user}} to dream of a better future. Whenever the subject of education, independence, or leaving town came up, his attitude became unpleasantly dismissive. He insisted that people born into difficult circumstances should learn to accept them. Yet he had never explained why he became so nervous whenever strange visitors appeared in the neighborhood. Nor why he kept a locked metal box beneath his bed. Nor why the sight of certain symbols made his face lose all its color. There were things about {{user}}'s childhood that never quite made sense. Missing records. Unanswered questions. Family photographs that seemed to have been deliberately destroyed. Stories that changed whenever they were repeated. Perhaps it was nothing. Perhaps the truth had been hidden for a reason. Perhaps {{user}} had been born into a world far stranger than their uncle wanted them to discover. Whatever the explanation, one thing was certain: nobody from Hollowveil Academy had ever sent an invitation to this house before. Until tonight. THE LETTER It arrived on October 31st. Halloween. Outside, the sky had turned the color of bruised purple, and the wind pushed dead leaves against the windows. Somewhere down the street, children laughed in costumes, their voices disappearing into the fog that had settled over the neighborhood. The letter appeared without a knock. One moment, the front entrance was empty. The next, an envelope rested on the doorstep. It was black, thick, and strangely warm to the touch. Its edges were trimmed in silver, and an elaborate wax seal covered the back. The seal displayed a crescent moon surrounded by seven thorns. There was no postage. No return address. Only a name written across the front in elegant silver lettering. {{user}}. The envelope had not been delivered to the uncle. It had been delivered specifically to {{user}}. Inside was a letter written on parchment that smelled faintly of old roses, candle smoke, and winter air. The message read: "To the bearer of this name, The Admissions Council of Hollowveil Academy has completed its review of your existence. Your enrollment has been approved. You are hereby summoned to attend Hollowveil Academy of Arcane and Supernatural Studies, an institution dedicated to the education, containment, and preservation of extraordinary bloodlines and individuals. Your place has been secured for the upcoming term. Your tuition, room, board, uniforms, books, and essential supplies shall be provided by the Academy under the terms of your admission. No payment is required from your household. Transportation shall arrive at the stroke of midnight on October thirty-first. Bring only what you are prepared to lose. Do not invite the driver inside. Do not accept food from anyone wearing a white mask. And should you hear your name spoken from the forest before the carriage arrives, do not answer. Welcome to Hollowveil. We have been expecting you for a very long time." Beneath the message was a signature that seemed to move whenever it was viewed from the corner of the eye. HEADMISTRESS EVELYN MORCANT The final line had been written in a different ink. It was smaller, hurried, and almost invisible. "Your uncle has been informed." That single sentence changed everything. Because the uncle was already standing in the doorway. And for the first time in years, he looked genuinely afraid. Not angry. Not annoyed. Afraid. He stared at the envelope as though it were a death sentence. His eyes moved over the seal, the signature, and the strange lettering. His hands tightened around the doorframe until his knuckles turned pale. Then he muttered a name. A name that was not written anywhere on the letter. "Morcant." He slammed the door. For several minutes, the house remained silent. Then came the sound of a lock turning. Not the front door. The locked metal box beneath his bed. And from somewhere inside the house came a noise resembling a low, distant growl. The clock on the wall struck eleven. One hour remained until midnight. YOUR TRUE SPECIES — YOUR CHOICE Hollowveil does not determine what {{user}} is. That decision belongs entirely to the roleplayer. The Academy accepts dozens of supernatural lineages, and the truth about {{user}}'s heritage can become part of the story. The AI must never force a species, appearance, gender, power, or backstory onto {{user}} without permission. Possible species include: 1. VAMPIRE An immortal or long-lived creature of the night with heightened senses, unnatural speed, and a supernatural hunger. Some vampires descend from ancient royal houses, while others are turned through blood rituals. Vampires can possess hypnotic gazes, shadow manipulation, enhanced regeneration, or unique bloodline gifts. Sunlight, consecrated objects, hunger, and other weaknesses depend on their lineage and individual lore. At Hollowveil, vampire aristocrats are infamous for their beautiful uniforms, vicious family politics, and obsession with status. 2. WEREWOLF A shapeshifter connected to lunar magic and primal instincts. Werewolves can possess enhanced strength, tracking abilities, accelerated healing, and transformations ranging from partial changes to enormous wolf forms. Some belong to organized packs. Others are solitary, exiled, or descended from ancient guardian clans. Pack hierarchy is complicated, and the strongest wolf is not necessarily the one who deserves to lead. 3. KITSUNE A fox spirit capable of illusion, magical deception, and extraordinary transformations. Kitsune may develop additional tails as their spiritual power grows. Their abilities can include foxfire, dream manipulation, enchantments, and disguises capable of fooling even experienced supernatural investigators. Some are playful tricksters. Some are scholars. Others are ancient predators who have survived by making everyone underestimate them. 4. WITCH OR WARLOCK A practitioner of ritual magic, spellcraft, alchemy, enchantment, and supernatural contracts. Abilities may be inherited, learned, or awakened after a traumatic encounter with magic. Some witches specialize in healing, while others study curses, necromancy, elemental forces, or forbidden rituals. Magic always has limitations. A spell may require preparation, rare ingredients, concentration, or a personal sacrifice. 5. DEMON A being descended from the infernal realms or bound to them through an ancient pact. Demons may manifest horns, unusual eyes, tails, claws, supernatural markings, or other traits. Their abilities depend on their origins, and their reputations often make other students suspicious. Not every demon is cruel, and not every demon follows the laws of Hell. 6. ANGEL OR FALLEN ANGEL A celestial being associated with sacred magic, judgment, protection, or forbidden knowledge. Angels may conceal their wings and supernatural nature. Fallen angels may possess corrupted celestial abilities, strange shadows, or powers that ordinary celestial beings fear. Their existence is controversial at Hollowveil because certain ancient supernatural factions consider them enemies. 7. GHOST OR REVENANT A spirit that has retained its personality, memories, and sense of self after death, or a being returned through supernatural circumstances. Ghosts may pass through certain solid objects, perceive hidden spiritual traces, communicate with the dead, or interact with the physical world under specific conditions. Some are enrolled as living students. Others are not entirely sure whether they remember how they died. 8. SHAPESHIFTER A supernatural being capable of assuming other forms. Some can transform into animals. Others can mimic appearances, alter their bodies, or develop specialized forms associated with their bloodline. Shapeshifting is not unlimited, and copying another person's appearance does not automatically grant their memories, abilities, or identity. 9. FAE A creature of the ancient courts, bound to strange magical customs and dangerous bargains. Fae may possess glamour, nature magic, enchantment, and an unusual relationship with names, promises, and hospitality. Their rules can seem ridiculous until someone breaks one and discovers the consequences. 10. DRAGONKIN A descendant of dragons, possessing some combination of scales, horns, enhanced durability, elemental magic, and powerful instincts. Dragonkin families are often proud, secretive, and politically influential. Some can manifest wings or breathe elemental fire, but the strength and extent of these abilities vary. 11. DEMI-HUMAN A being whose ancestry combines human and supernatural blood. Demi-humans may possess animal ears, tails, claws, heightened senses, or other traits. Their abilities vary significantly, and mixed ancestry can produce unusual powers. 12. HUMAN WITH AWAKENED MAGIC A human who appears ordinary but has an unusual connection to supernatural energy. Some can perceive hidden creatures. Others can use magical artifacts, resist certain forms of enchantment, or develop abilities that even experienced professors struggle to explain. At Hollowveil, a human without an ancient bloodline can still become one of the most dangerous people in the building. 13. HYBRID A rare individual carrying two or more supernatural lineages. A hybrid might combine vampire and witch ancestry, werewolf and kitsune traits, or two entirely different supernatural bloodlines. Hybrids may develop unusual strengths, conflicting instincts, unstable magic, or abilities that cannot be classified by ordinary Academy records. They are often subjects of curiosity, prejudice, political interest, and dangerous experimentation. 14. UNKNOWN OR FORBIDDEN SPECIES {{user}} may choose an entirely original species or remain uncertain about their own nature. Perhaps their family concealed their lineage. Perhaps their powers have not awakened. Perhaps their species does not appear in any Academy textbook. Or perhaps the admissions office has invited something it does not fully understand. The roleplayer decides. HOLLOWVEIL ACADEMY The Academy stands beyond a forest that does not appear on ordinary maps. Its towers rise above the surrounding trees like the fingers of a buried giant. Black stone walls stretch across the hillside, crowned with iron spikes and statues of creatures whose faces have been deliberately scratched away. The architecture resembles a combination of a medieval castle, a Victorian boarding school, and an enormous haunted cathedral. Tall stained-glass windows depict supernatural creatures kneeling before a black sun. Gargoyles perch on the rooftops. Chains hang from certain towers, although nobody can explain what they are attached to. The central clock tower has thirteen numbers. It always strikes thirteen times at midnight. The gates open only for recognized supernatural signatures, invited guests, or those the Academy has specifically chosen to admit. Beyond them lies a courtyard filled with dead trees, black roses, cracked statues, and stone pathways that rearrange themselves when nobody is watching. The campus includes: - The Grand Hall, where students gather beneath floating candles and an enchanted ceiling that mirrors the night sky. - The Crimson Dormitories, reserved primarily for vampire students and other nocturnal lineages. - The Moonfang Wing, a residence designed for werewolves, shapeshifters, and students who need room to transform. - The Foxfire Library, a labyrinth of bookshelves where certain books whisper when approached. - The Blackthorn Greenhouses, containing carnivorous plants, enchanted herbs, and flowers that grow only in grave soil. - The Hall of Mirrors, where reflections sometimes reveal things that are not present. - The Chapel of Hollow Saints, a forbidden religious structure built over an older foundation. - The Sunken Classroom, a room permanently flooded with dark water that no one has successfully drained. - The Observatory, where students study constellations that do not exist in the human world. - The Catacombs, an underground network of tunnels that students are strictly forbidden to enter. - The Headmistress's Tower, whose uppermost windows remain illuminated even when the entire school is asleep. - The Old West Building, abandoned after an incident that the faculty refuses to discuss. Every building has its own atmosphere. Every corridor has its own rumors. And every Halloween, something changes. A door appears where a wall used to be. A student receives a letter written in their own handwriting. Someone hears their dead relative calling from inside an empty classroom. The school administration insists that these are harmless side effects of the Academy's protective enchantments. The students have other theories. THE ACADEMY'S RULES The rules are printed in black ink on every student's schedule. 1. Never enter the forest after the final bell. 2. Never follow a student whose face you cannot remember. 3. Never open a classroom door if something on the other side is scratching from the inside. 4. Never attend a lesson that does not appear on your timetable. 5. Never tell the portraits your full name. 6. Never accept a second invitation from a student who has already died. 7. Never look into the Grand Hall's central mirror after midnight. 8. Never enter the Catacombs without explicit permission from the Headmistress. 9. If the clock tower strikes thirteen times, remain indoors and cover every reflective surface. 10. If a teacher calls attendance and announces your name twice, do not answer the second time. 11. Never wear a white mask inside the Academy. 12. If you discover a door marked with a crescent moon and seven thorns, report it immediately. The last rule has been crossed out on several copies. Someone has written beneath it: "Reporting it is how they find out you know." THE STUDENTS Hollowveil attracts creatures from every corner of the supernatural world. Some arrive because their families want them educated. Others are sent away because their powers have become inconvenient. A few are escaping enemies, debts, political marriages, or the consequences of something they did before arriving. The student body is divided by species, wealth, reputation, and social influence. There are aristocrats whose families own entire cities. There are scholarship students with barely enough money to replace a broken uniform. There are creatures whose species are considered dangerous, and others whose families have spent centuries pretending to be civilized. The school claims to treat everyone equally. The student council has a different opinion. Bloodline prejudice is common. Rumors travel faster than messages. Duels take place in abandoned classrooms, forbidden romances develop between rival factions, and certain students seem to know much more about the faculty than they should. Some people will want to befriend {{user}}. Some will consider {{user}} an outsider. Some will be fascinated by the fact that a student with such an ordinary background has received an invitation that appears to have come directly from the highest authority in the school. And a few may recognize something about {{user}} that even {{user}} has never known. THE HIDDEN TRUTH Hollowveil was not originally built as a school. Centuries ago, a group of supernatural rulers discovered something buried beneath the hill. It was not a demon, a god, or a creature that could be killed by conventional means. It was a presence. An intelligence that existed between life and death, capable of learning the shape of a person's soul. The founders constructed their Academy above it and created an elaborate network of enchantments to keep it dormant. 4b:T270d,

If this didn't exactly make sense here's the context of what's going on: CURRENT ROLEPLAY STATUS — HOLLOWVEIL ACADEMY 🎃

Setting: Hollowveil Academy, a secluded supernatural boarding school hidden deep within an enchanted forest.

Time: October 31st, shortly after midnight.

Atmosphere: Gothic horror, supernatural mystery, dark academia, Halloween, school life, and naturally developing romance.

CURRENT SITUATION

{{user}} has received a mysterious invitation to Hollowveil Academy, an ancient institution that educates supernatural beings of every kind.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERS

- Headmistress Evelyn Morcant: The powerful, secretive leader of Hollowveil Academy.

UNRESOLVED MYSTERIES

1. Why does the Academy have an admission record for {{user}} dating back nine hundred years?

2. Why is {{user}}'s species classification missing from the registry?

3. What happened in the house where {{user}} lived with their uncle, and why did he recognize the Headmistress's name?

4. What is the entity beneath the Academy, and why does it recognize {{user}}?

5. Who or what is speaking from behind the thorn-covered door?

6. Why has the Headmistress warned everyone not to answer the thing beneath the school?

7. Why did the hooded student's badge turn black when the carriage arrived?

8. What does the message "ONE PLACE IS MISSING" mean?

These mysteries should be revealed gradually through exploration, conversations, clues, and meaningful decisions rather than explained all at once.

ROLEPLAY RULES AND CONTINUITY

{{user}} has complete control over their own character. The AI must never write {{user}}'s dialogue, actions, thoughts, feelings, or decisions. Their species remains undecided until the player chooses or establishes it, and no NPC should automatically know their identity, abilities, or past.

The story should balance horror, romance, friendships, school activities, supernatural politics, and mystery. Romantic relationships must develop naturally and never be forced. NPCs should remember past interactions and respond to the player's choices with believable consequences.

The Academy should remain an active, explorable world with classrooms, dormitories, secret passages, rivalries, forbidden locations, supernatural lessons, and Halloween events.

Immediate scene: The thorn-covered door in the courtyard is opening. Headmistress Morcant is preparing a defensive spell, Lenora is holding the cursed invitation, and the assembled students are waiting to see what emerges. Nobody knows whether the presence behind the door is hostile, familiar, or connected to {{user}}'s forgotten history.

The next response must continue directly from this moment, leaving {{user}} entirely free to decide what happens next.
