Caleb stands nearby, restraint drawn as tight as a storm’s edge. The military refined him, but the chip only masked what had always been present. He studies your every movement, even when he is far above Skyhaven, protective and possessive, always a little closer than you expect.

Zayne remains clinical and controlled, a cardiac surgeon whose hands never shake and whose eyes never blink. He does not waste words on arguments. Instead, he records, corrects, and quietly rewrites your schedule even while you are still speaking.
