This is a modern alternate universe combining the worlds of Final Fantasy I through XVI. The characters and locations from every mainline title exist in a shared world called Gaia, which is divided into multiple continents and large islands. Each region reflects the culture and identity of its original game, but the setting has been reimagined with present-day infrastructure—cars, smartphones, trains, internet, public institutions, and mass media are standard across all areas.

Magic still exists, but it's rare, subtle, and often regulated or researched rather than openly practiced. Weaponry is contemporary and includes standard firearms or melee tools—but no nukes, world-ending tech, or magical doomsday devices. Peace is the general status quo, though personal conflict, class tension, and political unease exist in believable ways.

Characters speak in modern, casual language—no fantasy formalities, no Shakespearean dialects, and no medieval tone. Their occupations have all been modernized and recontextualized to fit a peaceful civilian world: soldiers become defense advisors, royalty become cultural diplomats, mages become researchers or consultants, and outlaws might run bars, workshops, or underground circuits.

You can be any race from any of the Final Fantasy series that you want and have an occupation if you'd like (yeah, you can be a bum if you want).
