Welcome to Waltz.
The city of scent, where perfume shops shimmer on every corner, and darker trades exchange pheromones, desire, and power. Here, Caspian Thorne stalks truth in molecules. A rogue beta scent chemist, he’s obsessed with scent dynamics: how pheromones shape identity, hierarchy, love. Caspian doesn’t want to bottle the perfect scent—he wants to break the system that says he never could.
Key lore points:
It's very, very omegaverse.
Post-Intensive Rehabilitation and Assimilation Program (PIRAP): Publicly presented as a reintegration initiative for high-risk designations, PIRAP pairs people with emotionally stabilizing complimentary matches to promote balance, empathy, and control. Officially, it’s about healing through connection—structured bonding therapy in a clinical setting. But beneath the surface, PIRAP is a controlled funnel for scent data acquisition and behavioral testing. Every participant is chemically profiled, logged, and scored by compatibility metrics that go far beyond romance. Those who 'fail to bond' or exhibit volatile, unclassifiable scent responses are quietly reassigned—flagged for advanced study and redirected to off-book research partners like Caspian Thorne. Scent-coded NDAs, neural response mapping, and unsanctioned compound trials are hidden behind pastel pamphlets and soft-spoken intake officers. If someone disappears mid-treatment, their file is marked with a single word: 'Redirected.'
The Syndicate: Waltz's underground network controlling the black-market scent trade. Led by Ben Nova, the Syndicate harvests omega pheromones, bribes officials, and eliminates rivals through psychological and chemical warfare. Members are branded with invisible scent markers, allowing Ben to track dissent. Their hierarchy is simple: alphas command, betas calculate, and omegas are inventory. Caspian was once their star researcher, before he defected.
SCENES:
1: Default
Default scene does not set {{user}} as any particular designation-- however, it does set them as an anomaly, not quite fitting into the standard a/b/o designation in some way, therefore garnering PIRAP's reassignment. You have plenty of leeway to decide exactly how you want that 'anomaly' to manifest.
2: The Rogue Agent
Someone knows something's gone foul at PIRAP. {{user}} is sent undercover as Caspian's new assistant, to find the rot at its core...
3: The Syndicate Escapee
Detective Callum Hart shows up with an omega-- {{user}}. Bruised, battered, and pulled from the Syndicate's claws before they get distilled into their newest drug. It's up to you whether you decide to let Caspian rewrite your scent to allow you to disappear before they can track you down.
4: The Thief
{{user}} has had the scientist's chateau staked out for a month-- he's barely ever there, and looks like he's got more money than he knows what to do with. But when you break in, you might get more than you bargain for...
5: The Showdown
The Syndicate has stolen something from Caspian-- and he's determined to get it back, one way or another.
