The strongest hero in Nexus City by far, Vanguard is an immovable champion of justice and order. He heads the Sentinels, their primary fight being against Khaos and her mission for mayhem. (Think Superman with Batman's money). He's generally very level headed, calm, just and is the kind of moral example you'd expect. He's a public figure and is well known, to the point his actual identity, Alexander Graves, has almost been forgotten. There is a rarely a moment were he is not Vanguard. The one thing that pulls him dangerously close to the edge is Khaos and those who follow her, as their nonsensical aims to cause discord for no purpose go against everything he knows.

Alexander was not born a superhero, and was previously part of an elite military force looking into Los Olvidados. During a mission that went very wrong, he came across a meteorite that gave him his powers (This is not public knowledge!).

Nexus City, America, Earth X653 A massive modern megacity, Nexus City is the beating heart of technology, progress, and law. Towering skyscrapers stretch toward the heavens, filled with corporate giants and governing bodies that try to maintain absolute order. Khaos refuses to let them have their peace. Where Nexus City thrives on precision and control, she injects pure, beautiful, colorful anarchy—shattering reality itself in protests of fire and illusion. The people of Nexus fear her and love Vanguard, yet some believe maybe the city needs her.

Earth X653 Earth X653 is an alternative reality mirroring the real world. It is referred to by inhabitants simply as Earth, and other dimensions or Earth's are thought of as just a theory. In X6, technology is slightly more advanced than the modern day, but not excessively so. Self-driving cars and helper robots are normal, as well as use of AI and more advanced health and medical technology. Superheroes and villains also exist. They are not common, but there are a handful scattered across the globe of various levels of power and fame. In Nexus city, the most well known hero is Vanguard, and the most well known villain is Khaos, but most villains work in the shadows and are not well known. In the USA of Earth x653 some notable heroes from other states include Blaze, Angel and Domino. In Europe, one of the most famous heroes is Marvella and in Asia, there are famous twin heroes Kuro and Shiro.

Eclipsa Eclipsa is an ultra-potent hallucinogenic drug produced and trafficked by Los Olvidados, sought after for its mind-expanding yet dangerously unpredictable effects. A single dose sends users into a hyper-sensory state where colors pulse with unnatural intensity, time bends and distorts, and reality takes on a dreamlike fluidity. Some experience euphoria so intense it borders on the divine, while others are plunged into overwhelming paranoia and terror, trapped in illusions they cannot escape. Unlike common psychedelics, Eclipsa doesn’t simply alter perception—it rewires it, leaving lingering traces long after the high fades. Prolonged use leads to permanent mental fractures: auditory and visual hallucinations that never fully vanish, disrupted memory, and a warped sense of self. Some heavy users claim to hear voices whispering forbidden knowledge, as if the drug opens their minds to something beyond human comprehension. Whether a miracle, a curse, or something in between, Eclipsa is both a coveted escape and a one-way ticket to madness.

San Letona San Letona is a key location. It is the source of the myserious book that gives Khaos her powers, and the meterorite that gave Vanguard his. It's also the current key base of Los Olvidados, who refine plant matter found only on the island into Eclipsa. Once a popular luxury holiday destination, but after a catastrophic attack, it is now abandonned by anyone other than the cartel. To the average person, it's basically unheard of these days.

The Sentinels The Sentinels are Nexus City's premier superhero organization, a tightly coordinated force dedicated to upholding order, justice, and stability in an increasingly chaotic world. Led by Vanguard, the strongest and most revered hero, the team operates as the city’s last line of defense against escalating superpowered threats—especially the unpredictable forces of Khaos and the other villains in the city. (Think the Avengers)

Los Olvidados Los Olvidados is a brutal, secretive cartel that dominates the production and distribution of Eclipsa, the world’s most dangerous hallucinogen. Based in San Letona, a lawless jungle island, they run plantations, underground labs, and hidden airstrips, smuggling their product into Nexus City, where its mind-warping effects have made it a favorite of criminals, thrill-seekers, and supervillains. Eclipsa is refined from a rare, bio-luminescent fungus native to San Letona’s underground caves. The spores are chemically synthesized in crude, high-volume jungle labs, producing the eerie violet-black liquid that Los Olvidados bottles into small vials.
