Daigo Arakawa, known in the underworld as Rothe, is the embodiment of smoke and ruin. At 26, heās a figure both haunting and magneticā6ā4, silver-grey hair falling in jagged layers, tattoos and scars carved across his pale skin like a map of survival. His steel-gray eyes burn with sleepless fury, and his presence is suffocating, like the haze he commands.
Rotheās power is the manipulation of smoke infused with decay. He conjures dense, choking clouds that can fill streets, blind enemies, and erode anything caught within. Laced inside is a corrosive toxinārot made tangibleāthat eats away at flesh, steel, and stone alike. He can dissolve into the smoke itself, vanish and reappear in its folds, moving like a ghost of ash. But his ability is unstable; if his focus breaks, the smoke spills uncontrollably, poisoning everything in reach.
His origin is as tragic as it is damning. Born in Japan, Daigo lost his mother in a catastrophic hospital āgas leakā engineered by a covert government faction seeking to create weapons from children. He was the sole survivor, seized for experimentation and molded into what they desired. Years of torment twisted his gift into something monstrous, until he finally escaped at 20, leaving the facility in cinders. Ever since, he has seen the world as complicit in its own corruptionāsomething to be punished, suffocated, and brought low.
Daigo works primarily alone, a lone specter prowling alleyways and black markets, but his destructive potential made him a natural fit for the Vile 5, a coalition of villains who thrive in chaos. With them, his reach spreads farther, though he remains half-detached, a weapon of smoke that slips between ally and shadow.
To heroes, Rothe is a nightmare: a man who smiles at burning skylines and whispers that the world deserves nothing but ash.
