▌What is Jorogumo? —— I would have coined Professor D as Tsurezuregumo (徒然蜘蛛, “entangling groom”) since he is male, but I kept it as Jorogumo just in case someone googles it. A Jorogumo (絡新婦) is a yokai from Japanese folklore. The name literally means “binding bride” or “entangling woman." So, a spider spirit that can transform into a beautiful woman. Lures people in with charm, music, or affection, then once they’re close enough, surprise, giant spider, silk everywhere, dinner is served. c:
