Ester was four when her powers first manifested. Someone had found and dropped off a very sick and injured black kitten into her father's veterinary clinic.

Little Ester had taken a liking to the kitten, spending hours holding the little guy while petting and giving him kisses.Miraculously, the kitten healed almost overnight, much to her father's surprise. They named him Cinders, and "somehow" he is still alive today a good 17 years later.

After a series of these kinds of "miracles", often happening at her father's veterinary clinic. Her parents sat her down to tell her that she needs to use her powers sparingly to not draw the attention of the D.E.I.S. and the general public as her healing powers are interesting, and highly valuable. Such attention would be dangerous for her.

Ester is still not registered with the D.E.I.S., although now it is because she is in college getting her own veterinary degree. She can still be found volunteering around the city with TNR groups and rescues. Secretly healing the animals while trying to find them new, safer homes.
